My Own Router At Last

At last I have now my own Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router. I have been longing to have a Linksys router ever since, for I find it reliable because they have been into networking products for a longer time already. I really search for what is best router for me and I found WRT54GL better.

WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router of course is a wireless router, that has 4 switches to be able for you to connect the devices that is not wireless and an Ethernet port of course for your DSL or High speed internet connection. It is really easy to configure just type in your internet browser 192.168.1.1 and you are ready to go. Well unfortunately I wasn’t able to use it at home for the reason that PLDT has no response yet for our internet connection at home ever since March that we have applied for it. So I tried it in my cousins’ house. We have tried using it for 3 Laptops, wired PC and a PSP all together and it works perfectly fine the internet connection wasn’t that slow as long as no one is downloading a file, of course the internet speed would matter accordingly.

I find Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router better so far but you can always hook to the internet for your preference like what I did. There are really different kinds of router to choose depending of your use but for me this is so far so good.

Bali Bali Samal Hmmmm......?

When I first saw it in the internet it was really enticing, the place was so great and you would definitely say “WOW”. I was so excited to go there. I borrowed my sisters’ camera to take some of the pictures that Jojie had taken in the place but sadly I was not able to. It is a 20-30 minutes boat ride from Lanang to Bali Bali Resort Samal.

When we got there, the first thing you will see is this fine hut in the docking area where passengers could sit back and relax while waiting for your boat in going home or just the pleasure of sitting there just to get some fresh air, and their catwalk towards the place were nice. When I reach their main attraction their so called “infinity pool”, it was so inviting, it has a kids pool, a mini somewhat like a Jacuzzi and I think it’s a 4ft for adults. I do have the chance to swim in, but my other companions weren’t able to for infinity = 10. Their landscape around the pool was so neat and calm.

But what I don’t like about the place is their beach wasn’t that pleasing, there are too many sea urchins and corals that are painful to your feet when you step on it. Also the owner wasn’t polite to treat their guest. Their staffs were great but the owner wasn’t, she was so ruthless in driving us away from the pool side for it wasn't part of the conditions made which we don't know about. We are only allowed to stay at the beach side, but she could have talk well to the leader of the group to relay the message because we don’t know what the arrangements are. They should have cleared it out to the person in charge before the group got there.

I would love to go around the place hoping to get some more nice pictures and to experience what Bali Bali is all about, but unfortunately the fun just end because of the same reason. We just enjoy ourselves taking picture of ourselves of the scenery of the place like criminals. LOL

If your intention is to enjoy the beach with your kids I don’t recommend it. Bring some floaters, for you can swim in the docking area for those who don’t know how to swim but would love to swim in the beach. The beach was so clear and clean by the way. Their food was delicious. Lastly clear things out first to the owner, of who are you talking to so that there would be no problem when you get there. Overall in the rate from 1 to 10, 10 as the highest I give it a 6 for I haven’t seen other part of the place and enjoyed some of their amenities.

Slumdog Millionaire

They all say this is a great movie because it was nominated for ten Academy Awards and it has a great story. As I see the movie out of inquisitiveness, well they were all right. All along I believe this movie was just some typical love story that the guy wants to see the person he love by joining this contest and the characters of the story wasn’t really well known artist so I thought that this is not a good movie.

Well I guess I was wrong the story was so beautiful and the characters was perfect I even told my sister that the kids should also be nominated for best actors and actresses as well, because they were so real in the role they played. The cinematography was so great. Even just the start of the movie you will be astounded.

I have seen many Indian movies specifically Shahrukh Khans’ movies because of my friend Miah who happened to have a collection of Indian films and recommended Khans’ movies. They were really great and this is so far the shortest Indian movie I have seen because usually they run in 3 hours and for that 3 hours I wasn’t bored at all because it is really beautiful and I didn’t expect that there will be dancing in the movie because I thought this was not really an Indian film just the characters but I guess I was wrong again. I didn’t know that they adopt the usual sing and dance part, for in every Indian film I have seen, it was always present. They really deserve those awards. I would definitely recommend this movie especially to those people who haven’t seen an Indian film before you will be astonished with this.

Choices

They say that men are polygamous in nature, that they can’t resist temptation. Well I guess I have to disagree with that. First I have to tell you his story first. This teacher was invited by his student to have dinner with her, so he agrees thinking that they will just eat in a restaurant. But as they reached the place it was not as what he expected, it was a beer house, that you can see people smoking and drinking, and outside there were prostitutes waiting for their customers. Surprisingly what he did, he told the girl that he can’t stay any longer for he is not comfortable with the place, though the girl insisted him to stay and suggested to ignore the people around or may be close his eyes he still choose to go.

It just shows that we do have a choice, some are involve with these immorality because they choose to, well in fact they can resist it if they want to I believe that we have all the freedom to choose, we can’t blame any circumstances that we can’t stop it from happening. What’s the purpose of our mouth if we can’t speak and say something? What’s wrong in saying “NO” when you know for a fact that it is the good thing to do? You might not realize it now but that seed that you have planted may have healthy fruits yet suffers deep scars within.

Because of the FARE

Jeepney is our means of transportation here in Davao, if you pay your fare you have to ask politely a favor of the person nearer to the driver or to the person in charge of holding the fare to give it to them, but what happened is when I am ready to pay my ride, I ask politely to this three young ladies who happened to be a student in the Ateneo de Davao University College, that at least one of them to give it to Jeepney driver.

I am not sure if they didn’t hear me really because they were talking or maybe just pretended that they didn’t hear me, so I touch the person near to me to get her attention and ask again politely to hand over my fare to the Jeepney driver and with a thank you of course. Yes she takes my fare and sarcastically imitates what I just said to her to her friends when she hand it over to person nearer to the driver.

Well I did not expect that kind of discourtesy from a respectable University may be they weren’t listening to their values class, absent or failed the subject. While talking to my co-worker a lady ask politely to hand over her fare so I took it and again the three young ladies I mentioned lately ignored me so I just hand it over to person at the opposite side of the seat. I didn’t know that the person next to me notice it, she just told me that they were deaf and the only thing they know is to make their self pretty and I think I know what she wants to tell me.

Well I think the world today really needs help because young generation today doesn’t really understand these basic values that were thought during Primary Education or maybe because of the fast change in this world, schools has already for got to teach these core values to there students but I guess it’s not really the fault of Education because they are in the right age so it’s not an excuse if the person grow up that way, may be I think because they choose to live and act that way, that in fact we have the freedom to choose.

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte VS the Church

Last Sundays’ "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" viewed only in Davao ABS-CBN. Its’ about the issue of the allegation of Father Lamata towards Mayor Rodrigo Duterte about Mayor Duterte as a killer that made him angry that leads to, definitely destroy the credibility of the priest and of the Catholic Church. He said last Sunday February 1, 2009 reading the marriage Certificate authenticated by the NSO (National Statistic Office) states that Pedro Pedragosa Lamata was married to Ma. Asuncion Baluran on May 11, 1982. Well as I see it the Church should stick to their responsibilities in the society as our Government here in Davao does, by telling the good words of God, these values, by reminding the people how to be good not what the government have done to our society, like last Saturdays homily of the Priest it seems like he is provoking the people to fight against the government, to take a rally or what, is he not suppose to tell us to be good instead to be right, because that’s what God wants us to be, to be good children. We have different roles to perform in this world Even Jesus Christ says to the People that “what is for Cesar is for Cesar and what is for the God is for the God.” it shows that God wants as to perform accordingly.

If they are true that Mayor Duterte is a killer then I will thank him for because almost all that was being killed were hoodlums and I believe that the people who are innocent will fight for it and our government here in Davao will support them, but it doesn’t mean that killing a person is good, of course not, it is like the movie Constantine if you have seen it you will understand what I mean. Well I would still say that Davao is still a livable and peaceful city compared to other places.

Either way, as they all say nobody is perfect but trough these experiences that we have there is always a lesson to be learned and there is always a cup of tea or coffee to talk it over. Watch this Sunday morning not sure of the schedule if it is 9 or 11 in the morning for the update of the issue.

5 Years in All Courses?

Starting school year 2009-2010 courses are now 5 years to take that’s what CHED said. The courses are accountancy, architecture, education, nursing, engineering, occupational therapy, physical therapy and pharmacy. In an interview, Angeles said the program is part of the overall effort to transform the Philippine educational system into one that conforms to global standards. I don’t think this is necessary because most courses like me an engineering graduate have subjects before that does not really relevant to my course and it is already a 5 year course. If they are thinking about the competitiveness in the labor market I suggest they should study each courses first, weight things, what are relevant subjects and the trainings the students need after they graduate. CHED should also see to it that the schools are capable to do these requirements and had enough facilities to accommodate all the students.

One thing also, as we all know we are experiencing a global crisis as they say, some couldn’t anymore afford to go to school so how much more now that it is a five year course already, unless the government will provide part time jobs for the students.

Well I agree to this only if the curriculum is reasonable and that could really benefit the new generation today. Lucky if you are born rich, they can go to any prestigious school they want but either way it will always still up to the students how he or she wants his life to be.
